The Parish Council have re-opened the Children's Play Park and a Public Toilet facility following the easing of lockdown.

Studdens Lane by way is closed to all horses and vehicles. Water damage has created an enormous hole in the surface which extends across almost the whole width of the byway. ES Rights of Way have added that for the time being it can safely stay open to walkers.
Repairs may not be possible until the summer, given the ground conditions.

Sewer improvement works, Herstmonceux
As you're aware, we're making some improvements to the sewer network in Chapel Row, Gardener Street and Victoria Road, Herstmonceux.
What happens next?
We've completed the first stage of our work in Victoria Road and the road will be re-opened this week to vehicles, with the exception of HGV's who will need to continue to use the diversion route.

The information gained from the initial consultation period has enabled HTAG to progress to this point. A new planning application for the Horseshoe Inn at Windmill Hill has been submitted to the Local Planning Authority and received into the Parish Council for their submission of Comments and Observations. Council will agree their formal response at an extra Planning Committee meeting on the 20th January, small hall in the Herstmonceux Village Hall, 7.00pm. All parishioners are invited.

The re-opened public toilet facility was formally re-opened by Cllr Pam Doodes (Chair of Wealden District Council and District Councillor for Herstmonceux and Pevensey Levels) on Monday 21st October 2019 at 2.00pm.

Southern Water will be making some improvements to the sewer network in Chapel Row, Gardner Street and Victoria Road, Herstmonceux.
The work is due to start on November 4th 2019 with a site compound being established at the junction of Victoria Road and Joes Lane. Working hours will be from 7.30am to 6pm Monday to Friday. Expect additional vehicle movement and activity in the area.
