Re-opening of East Sussex Libraries

Browse and borrow books safely at your local library

All East Sussex libraries have reopened and residents can once again borrow, return and reserve items. Computers are available to pre-book, and study space and Job Pods for online job interviews are available at selected libraries.

Customers can reserve up to 10 items, with existing and new library loans extended until 30 June.

Cuckmere Bus Service - Tier 4 Updates


Although we are nearly back to pre-covid levels of service, the outlook currently is uncertain. There will be further travel restrictions now that we have moved into Tier 4, where people must not leave their homes without reasonable excuse.

Construction Works at the Rec

The construction works for the upgrading of the carpark and the laying of the new footpath are completed.

Unfortunately, rain has stopped play and the children's play park construction works are unable to be completed until the ground dries out enough to resume work.

Herstmonceux Parish Council reopening of public facilities

The Parish Council have re-opened the Children's Play Park and a Public Toilet facility following the easing of lockdown.

Bulky Waste Collection update from WDC

WDC are pleased to announce that, following some initial disruption to staffing levels due to Coronavirus, the Council and its waste contractor Biffa are able to resume the household bulky waste collection service from Tuesday 5 May 2020.
